An important milestone has been successfully completed within the scope of the 16-off ARES 18 SAR Search and Rescue Boat Project being carried out for the General Directorate of Coastal Safety. The steel-cutting ceremony of the first vessel to be produced under the project was held at the ARES Shipyard facilities.
The ceremony, hosted at ARES Shipyard, was attended by the General Director of Coastal Safety and his accompanying delegation, as well as ARES Shipyard management and employees. With the completion of the steel cutting, the project has officially entered the serial production phase. The ARES 18 SAR boats, measuring 18.50 meters in length with an aluminum hull, will be built in full compliance with Türk Loydu classification rules. These modern platforms aim to significantly enhance search and rescue capacity by operating 24/7 within Türkiye’s maritime jurisdiction areas and the Turkish Straits.
ARES Shipyard CEO, Oğuzhan Pehlivanlı, stated, “We are proud to have successfully completed the first major production step of our project. Together with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, we continue to carry out this important project—which will contribute to maritime safety in our country—with the highest quality standards.”
As ARES Shipyard, we extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, and all project partners for their support and contributions.
